Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR)

This is the feline herpes virus and the feline cold, and is therefore a respiratory disease that is very contagious. Symptoms include sneezing, loss of appetite, fever and eye inflammation. As the disease progresses, nasal leakage and ocular secretions become apparent. This can lead to death by pneumonia in kittens. Feline viral rhinotracheitis is transmitted through saliva and ocular and nasal secretions.
