Are you unable to adopt an animal but want to help our cats at the ARN?

With a donation of $20/month you can sponsor a cat of your choice and receive news and photos of them every three months.

Any donations exceeding $10 are tax deductible and you are thus eligible for a receipt. In order to calculate the tax credit to which you are entitled, please consult the Government of Canada website.

Sponsor a cat

Currently, each cat at our shelter is brought to the veterinarian as soon as it is brought to the shelter. Each cat is also brought to the vet if they need to be vaccinated or when they are suffering from an unknown health problem. The sponsoring program was designed to help facilitate visits to the veterinarian for cats who need it and to aid the process of adoption. Your financial contribution will allow the sickest cats to receive regular visits to the vet and the specialized care they need.

Your donation will not only be used for the cat you choose to sponsor but also will provide care for all the cats and their needs at our shelter. Sadly, some cats in the sponsoring program are never chosen. Therefore, it is necessary and our responsibility to ensure equal care to all our darlings! This is where your donations come into use! Sponsor a room

In a shelter of course there are many adoptions, new arrivals and some deaths.

There is also, and above all, everyday life. Thethings that make us enjoy coming to the shelter and spending time with out little ones. This daily life is rich in events of all kinds: friendships that are made, couples that are formed, the progress of each cat, the introduction of a new one, adoptions and sometimes deaths.

In addition to raising funds, this program will allow us to:

To introduce donors to the 120 cats in the shelter
To show that there are not only sick and unhealthy cats, but also happy and healthy cats
To share with the public what life in the shelter is like for our cats on a daily basis
Promote interest in becoming a volunteer

Sponsoring a room carries the same requirements as sponsorship of an individual cat:

Requires a monthly donation of 20$ per room
It is possible to sponsor more than one room
You’ll receive news every 3 months from the sponsored room

What will the funds be used for? They will cover some medical expenses, help purchase specialized food, and occasionally help purchase regular food.

If you prefer to send your information and payment for your sponsoring by mail, you may do so. The following information must be included:

First and last name
Complete address
Phone number (to communicate with you if needed)
Email address (if you wish to receive news and photos of your cat chosen by email. Otherwise, indicate that you want to receive the news and the photos by post.)
Name of the cat you wish to sponsor
Duration of the sponsorship (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, etc.)
Amount of your cheque ($20 a month)
If you wish to receive a tax receipt, include your payment (see ” Payment by post ” section below).

Sponsor the mystery cat!

Sponsorship was set up to help cover the veterinary costs of chronically ill cats with little chance of adoption.

However, a new concept is coming to sponsorship: the mystery cat! If you decide to sponsor the mystery cat, you’ll receive news and photos of a cat taken in by the shelter whose health condition requires veterinary care.

You’ll be able to follow the evolution of the cat’s health until it’s cured. Once the kitty is healthy again, a new cat will become the mystery cat and a new story will be sent to you.
